Spring/Summer 2025 5 Dr. Pietila honored as Top Physician for second year in a row Michael Pietila, MD, FCCP, FACP, a Yankton Medical Clinic physician board-certified in pulmonology and critical care, was once again presented with a prestigious award from Avera Home Medical Equipment (AHME). Jeff Hart, with AHME, presented the Top Physician award to Dr. Pietila in 2024, for the second consecutive year. Hart explains: “For our fiscal year 2024, which ended in September, Dr. Pietila was the Top Physician of the Year, though he is not affiliated with the Avera system. Our Home Medical Equipment division consists of 1,200 Avera physicians, plus an additional 600 physicians, like Dr. Pietila, who are not affiliated with Avera.
